The BBB Business Integrity Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics is presented to four companies who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to exceptional standards in relationships to their consumers, employees, suppliers, competitors, shareholders and communities.
The BBB Business Integrity Torch Award winners illuminated the importance of corporate conscience and responsibility to uphold a fair and honest marketplace.
Companies submitting applications will be judged by an independent panel selecting one winner in each of the four categories:
Category I: 1-10 employees
Category II: 11-99 employees
Category III: 100-499 employees
Category IV: 500+ employees
Businesses must also submit a packet of information addressing four criteria:
1. Organization's Practices--including a statement by the company about its position regarding business integrity and company practices and/or policies that foster positive employee relations.
2. Customer/Vendor/Supplier Relations--company policies and practices that assure excellence in products and/or services, and demonstrate accountability to those being served: vendors and suppliers.
3. Marketing/Advertising/Communications/Solicitation Practices--samples or descriptions of the methods the company uses to assure all solicitations, promotional materials and advertisements are truthful and accurate.
4. Reputation within Industry and Community--awards, recognition, news articles and/or complimentary letters from others and examples of sound environmental, health/wellness practices and recognition.
This award is only open to businesses that have shown a commitment to ethical standards through voluntary BBB Accreditation.
